Chrome vanadium is a special formula of alloyed steel and is the "original" W.R. Case steel used for many years. In addition, chrome vanadium blades are known for their edge holding ability and easy resharpening. However, chrome vanadium is less resistant to rusting, pitting and discoloration than stainless steel.
